Wonder Bread?

Yeah, I tend to think of Wonder Bread and its brightly-colored packaging when I look at this bow, but it's another school-themed bow.
I love polka dots!  Wonder Bread would've been a cute theme for this bow, but it's got three textbooks on it instead and that's fine too.  As with yesterday's bow, this one came from Etsy, but because it's another gift I don't know where.

The subject matter listed on the three books are a mixed bag for me.  I loved art and reading growing up, but I hated math.  I still hate math, for that matter!  I never have understood how numbers could go from something like 2+2 to the Pythagorean theorem.  Art, on the other hand...well, as I discussed back in April, I don't always understand art (or stuff called "art"), but I like it.  Seeing the word in big letters makes me giggle though, because I picture Schroder and Lucy and their discussion about music, art, and money.
I can't play music on any instrument, but I can still relate to Schroder pounding his piano while yelling "ART!  ART!  ART!"  In this case I can also relate to Lucy, as for once she asked a reasonably intelligent question.  True, Schroder IS playing art, but art alone doesn't put food on the table or clothes on one's back...and unfortunately unless you become some sort of performing superstar, playing art won't help you much.

Now reading...I'm ashamed to admit this since I'm a librarian, but I'm not much of a reader.  I like juvie lit (Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, House of the Scorpion, stuff like that), and I like true crime, and if it's a book about a historical tornado I'm all over it like white on rice.  I also enjoy some poetry (Longfellow is my favorite), and I like children's books, especially if I had them when I was small.  I forget now how many bows I've worn that were themed after children's books...three, was it?  Four?  Yeah, four...Pete the Cat (I haven't shared that one yet, shame on me), the Saggy Baggy Elephant, the Very Hungry Caterpillar, and Brown Bear, Brown Bear.  Oh yeah, I've also got the Cat in the Hat, so five.  I guess the Harry Potter bows I've got count too; I've got several of them.  LOL, children are our future, so I try to relate to them as best I can when they come into the library.  But adult fiction?  FORGET IT!!!  I base my recommendations on what other patrons have told me, and on online reviews.

Happy school days,
