A BERYL of fun

Image
The remnants of Hurricane Beryl moved in over night and it's raining like y'all wouldn't believe.  That means that my green pool bow gets to come out. Looks to be an interesting day today!  Local weather says there's a possibility of tornadoes, so I'm keeping my eyes peeled. Love,  RagingMoon1987

Another one of THOSE days

Image
I actually like THOSE days, the days were there's no goofy holiday or anything.  Days like to day mean that I can wear whatever hair bow I choose.  Today the weather is supposed to be bad, so I opted for one of my plastic bows.  Etsy shop is LeahBowsCreations . It's transparent, and thus the bows from April 19th and November 22nd are clearly visible.  Maybe a plain background would be better in this case. Yeah, definitely better.  I have two plastic bows, one blue and one green, and today I chose the green one .  It hasn't seen daylight since last April.  It's not the most comfortable bow since it's pretty stiff, but it also doesn't catch the wind and pull my hair when the wind blows like my bigger bows do.  Yeah, went through that song and dance a few months ago when one of Mama's dogs decided to die on a very cold, very windy day.  Thank God she was a little dog. That's about all I have to say today.  A no-frills bow equals a no-frills post. Love, Ra

Oh, look at it rain

Today is a plethora of small obscure holidays, and I don't have a hair bow for a single one.  So once again I'm digging deep into my boxes.  As of the nine o'clock hour it's raining with some lightning accompanying, so I picked a plastic bow that I've worn before (I only have two plastic bows).  Pardon the flash; these transparent bows are hard to photograph.  Etsy shop is perfectprincess .  They're based out of Jackson, Tennessee and as of writing are not taking any orders due to the expected foul weather (it's supposed to snow this weekend). Okay, it IS Kiss a Ginger Day, but I have no one to kiss, let alone a ginger.  I'd almost give my left arm to have someone to love, someone who loves me just as much as I love him, but I'm not bettin' on it.  Not ever.  Anyway, this is the bow I wanted to wear with my jellyfish earrings for Jellyfish Day, but I misplaced the earrings.  Turns out I had them with the bow, but concealed by other bows. My favorite invertebrate?

Image
Well...I like a lot of invertebrates, but I do think jellyfish are particularly cool.  Today is Jellyfish Day, but alas, I've just got a plain jelly bow for my hair (Etsy shop is perfectprincess ). I did have jellyfish earrings, dangly vinyl ones that fluoresced under blacklight, but one of my cats destroyed them and I haven't replaced them. Admittedly I got tired of discussing the phylum  Cnidaria during invertebrate zoology, but in truth jellyfish are some of my favorite animals.  I won't say they're my absolute favorite invertebrate since I love so many insects and am very fond of echinoderms and cephalopods, but I do think jellyfish are pretty dern cool.  Like tornadoes and split rainbows , there's a lot of mystery surrounding them.  Scientists aren't really sure how long these boneless, brainless creatures have been around.  They have no brainstems or ganglions, just a ring of nerves that helps them to function, and yet they catch fish and breed and live l

Blowing away...again

March went out like a lion, and April is picking up where March left off.  Last Friday the middle of the country (including my neck of the woods) had a nasty tornado outbreak, and tonight we may get more of the same.  Since rain is in the forecast, I'm locked and loaded with a fitting hair bow. Etsy sellers call these pool bows or jelly bows, because they are made out of jelly-looking plastic and can be worn at the beach or the pool.  I can't swim so I never go to the pool, but I still like these plastic bows.  The only problem is that I got one that doesn't match any of my clothes!  Gonna have to fix that.  In this case my Etsy store is LeahBowsCreations , but there are plenty of other options, as well as smaller bows for the kiddies.  Not that I'm allergic to smaller bows, of course!  I do prefer 'em big, but some of my best are on the small side.
