Yellow on yellow

Image
I can't remember ever wearing this bow, so today it steps out. There's not much to say, really.  This one speaks for itself, being a yellow-on-yellow stripe with a vague horizontal pattern thrown in.  Kinda veronal for the blazing hot weather most of the country has been having. Yellow, like purple, is a special color to me.  It's not my favorite, but it's my mother's favorite and the color always makes me think of her.  It helps that just about everyone I know looks amazing in yellow.  Mama looks good, my best guy friend looked good, my dolls look good, and I daresay that I look okay as well.  Yellow also accentuates other colors well; one of my favorite combinations is yellow and pink.  I don't know why, but I've always loved how pink and yellow look together, especially if they're both soft shades.  The eye-splitting neon shades look pretty good together too, though. Okay, that's enuff bloviating!   Love, RagingMoon1987

Mermaid scales

It's a bit early in the year yet to be talking about mermaids...I guess.  I've just always associated mermaids with summertime, particularly since my sister and I used to pretend we were mermaids when we got in the kiddie pool.  Either way my bow today looks a little mermaid-ish.  It's one of those that looks like a JoJo bow but is not, thus being what I like to calla faux JoJo.  I've got a few like this that I bought from Wal-Mart, and while they're not brand-name they're just as good. The finish on this bow reminds me of fish scales.  The scales themselves are rigid and clear, and the fish's bright skin is visible underneath.  Same sorta thing here; the bow itself is colored, and the sequins are shiny and clear.  The sequins flip, by the way, though the sequins are clear in this case and the "flip" function is kinda pointless.  They do look nice, though. Oh, flip sequins.  I can remember a time, not too long ago, actually, when everything b...

Easter, and Easter, and spring

Image
LOL, family joke!  The roots of that joke actually began shortly before Christmas one year, as Mama was preparing to put out the decorations.  She named them off as she handed them to me, and as she handed me a spring-themed trio of items she muttered "...and Easter, and Easter, and spring."  Being a fairly young child, I remember thinking "Spring's too far away to look forward to."  And then in the blink of an eye it would be here, kinda like it was this year.  Anywho, the "Easter and Easter and spring" attitude fits my bow today, as it's more of a spring bow than one specifically for Easter.  Come to think of it, the butterfly bow was more for all of spring too. This is NOT a JoJo bow, by the way; my Wal-Mart has a few knock-offs that are just as good as the brand-name bows, and because I've never been a brand snob I get the knock-offs just like the brand-names.  Because I like rhyming, I call these faux JoJo bows.  The color is what drew me ...
