Madness
I want to kick things off by sending warm birthday wishes to Muse vocalist Matt Bellamy, for whom I have growing respect. My sister told me YEARS AGO that Muse was a decent band, but I'm only now realizing how right she is. If you've ever heard Matt's wailing vocals in "Survival" then you'll understand why my respect for the band has grown, as his voice sounds hauntingly like that of the great Freddie Mercury, especially right at the end. "Madness" is also a special song, as my sister and brother-in-law have it picked as "their song." Y'all know how some married couples do that? The spring before they were married my sister came home for spring break, and she happened to come home during the height of March Madness. Sister reported later that every time she turned on the TV "Madness" was playing, and when she returned to Cape Girardeau Brother-in-Law reported the same thing. The two had missed each other, of course, and they grew to associate "Madness" with each other, and what's special to them becomes special to me by proxy. As for me, I like "Knights of Cydonia." Matt's father is George Bellamy of the Tornados, and I can hear the Tornados' influence in some of Muse's songs. Listen to "Telstar" and before listening to "Knights of Cydonia" and you'll know what I mean. So...happy birthday, Matt Bellamy. Thanks for the music and the memories!
Sadly I do not have a Muse-themed bow. I have one for the Beatles and one for Led Zeppelin, but none for Muse. Indeed, I don't know if such a critter exists. So I picked one that's...well, if I wanted to nitpick it's got a little madness of its own. It's go hearts on it like a great many JoJo Bows do, but the hearts are black.
This particular bow is one of my heavier ones, because it has a light-up function. My light-up bows are always a little on the weighty side, though not as much so as the Lalaloopsy bow.
I have a handful of these bows that light up, but some of them have batteries that have kicked the bucket. The batteries are sadly not replaceable, so I leave the lights off most of the time. Luckily these bows are cute even when they're not lit up; the best example I have of a bow like this will be seen closer to Halloween.
