Happy birthday to me!
I'm thirty-six today, and my birthday calls for something colorful.
I love rainbow anything, especially hair bows, and this one was a gift (from my mom, of course) so it's extra special. I've always loved rainbows and the holy covenant that they symbolize. I also love how all rainbows are the same colors and are formed in the same way, but no two are ever quite alike. One of my favorite hobbies is sky photography, and I'm always looking for rainbows when the conditions are right. I captured this one on August 28th, 2020, for example. The sun was partly hidden by clouds and was still fairly high, so there was only a single, partial bow. The colors were glorious, though! On October 12th, 2022 I captured this spectacular double rainbow shortly after sunrise. Because the sun has just risen the bow had a ruddy tint, and because the sky to the east was relatively clear both bows were full.
That rainbow and the resulting pictures are very dear to me, because of the rainbow itself and because of the neighborhood children. The school bus was picking up the kids around this time, and up and down the street I could hear little voices hollering "Rainbow! Look at the rainbow!" The little girl next door to me, who wasn't yet old enuff for school, also leaned out the door and exclaimed "Look, Mommy! Look at the wainbow!" I even texted my own mom, telling her to look west when she came out of her house (we live next door to each other).
Rainbows come in other forms, and two of my photography grails are a fogbow and a reflection bow. Fogbows are formed when the sun shines on a bank of fog rather than a curtain of rain, and reflection bows usually occur near large bodies of water, like oceans or big lakes. The water has to be pretty calm, or parts of the rainbow will be blurred, as they are here.

As for today, the heat has finally broken, and if you follow my doll blog then you know that Mama and I spent most of the summer at Uncle Man-Child's house. Well, we finally got to go home for good yesterday and it's wonderful. Indeed, the nights are kinda chilly now!
