Easter, and Easter, and spring
LOL, family joke! The roots of that joke actually began shortly before Christmas one year, as Mama was preparing to put out the decorations. She named them off as she handed them to me, and as she handed me a spring-themed trio of items she muttered "...and Easter, and Easter, and spring." Being a fairly young child, I remember thinking "Spring's too far away to look forward to." And then in the blink of an eye it would be here, kinda like it was this year. Anywho, the "Easter and Easter and spring" attitude fits my bow today, as it's more of a spring bow than one specifically for Easter. Come to think of it, the butterfly bow was more for all of spring too.
This is NOT a JoJo bow, by the way; my Wal-Mart has a few knock-offs that are just as good as the brand-name bows, and because I've never been a brand snob I get the knock-offs just like the brand-names. Because I like rhyming, I call these faux JoJo bows. The color is what drew me in; it's that shade of pink that has a dab of orange in it. Some folks call that color "salmon," some call it "peach," and some call it "apricot," but either way it's endeared itself to me. Indeed, aside from green and blue, I think peach/salmon/apricot may be my favorite color. It doesn't hurt that I love to eat salmon, and peaches, AND apricots, LOL. Oddly, though I see a lot of things in this soft, springlike color during Easter, I almost never see it in the real world. Hibiscus are sometimes this pretty peach color, as are roses, but that's about it. Thus the flower-shaped sequins are fitting, even though they look more like your stereotypical daisies than hibiscus.
That concludes the week for me! I have...nothing special planned for Easter, actually. Just a typical Sunday: sleep late, get up to help Mama feed my man-child of an uncle, maybe a short drive along the back roads, weather permitting, and then back home for a nice, long nap. With a few variations here and there, those are my Sundays in a nutshell. I need to get my rear back in church.
Happy Holy Saturday,
