Catch a falling star

Especially if it's pink and shiny!

In truth this one is actually a bit girly for my tastes, but then again, I was a girl not too long ago.  I stopped falling under the "girl" category when I turned thirty, but no biggie.  Yeah, this bow is one I don't wear too often, mainly because I don't have much that goes with it.  I don't wear a lot of pale blue or purple OR pale pink, even though I love all three colors.  And I avoid white like the plague, because I always manage to get white dirty.

On the other hand, stars are a motif that I love dearly, particularly shooting stars.  When I was a teenager I dotted my lowercase I's and J's with little stars, and if I was signing my signature I included a shooting star...or two...or three!!!  I loved stars enuff that I got one tattooed on my leg.  In a way I related to the stars in the heavens, and I still do.  I want to shine.  I don't want to stand out and be the only one, necessarily, but I want to be there and shine my own unique light, adding color to the night sky with others who aren't afraid to be a little different.  I also didn't want to be a shooting star, because they're there one minute and then you never see 'em again.

But on the other hand you never forget a nice meteor when you see one.  I remember the first meteor I ever saw, for example.  It was an uncommonly cold Fourth of July, and my family was out on a back road watching the town's firework show.  I happened to glance north, where earlier there had been an unusual dragon-shaped cloud, and a HUGE green meteor blitzed through the night sky.  I exaggerate not when I say it was huge; I've never seen one that big since.  "WOWWWW!!!" I yelled.  Mama and Daddy had also been looking in the right direction, but my poor sister was not.  She was mad for the rest of the night that she wasn't looking the right way.  I've seen a great many nice shooting stars since then, but none so great as that first one.  None of 'em have ever been pink or purple like the star on my bow, but I've seen a few that had a nice blue tint.

No shooting stars for me today, as it's once again raining!
