April Fools Day

I don't have anything too humorous to wear, so I went with a horror theme instead.
That, kids, is Pennywise the clown, better known as It.  I have two of these, both from BaanBows on...guess where?  Etsy!  Told y'all that most of my best bows come from Etsy!  So do some of my best earrings.  Dig these.
These came from EyesOnYouHandmade, and they're just one of the available murder weapons.  There are also meat cleavers, big heavy wrenches, a few different types of saw, and my choice of weapon, a claw hammer.  If you're not into horror the shop has tamer stuff.  Now for the record, I have no intention of killing anyone or anything deliberately (except maybe the red wasp that I saw out my window this morning), but if it comes to defending myself I'll most likely utilize either a claw hammer or a pair of scissors like what I'm currently wearing.  I doubt either one would work against Pennywise, though.  I remember HOW Bev killed him in the book, but I don't remember what she loaded her slingshot with to get the job done.  Wikipedia says she shot silver earrings at It in the miniseries, and even though you can't always trust Wikipedia I'm gonna go with 'em.

Since I'm a librarian and books are supposed to be my life, a quick chat about the author that introduced Pennywise, Stephen King.  I...actually don't like Stephen King's writing much.  He tells good stories, but he's so cotton-pickin' verbose that one forgets what the point of the story is after awhile.  For example, I managed to slog through Carrie, and there's a scene early on where popular kids Sue Snell and Tommy Ross are getting it on.  Instead of building on poor Carrie's predicament, King describes how Sue doesn't find sex particularly enjoyable.  The movie's corresponding scene merely shows Sue embracing Tommy during track practice, pulling him aside, and saying "I want you to take Carrie White to the prom."  That scene does more to set up the climax than the sex scene in the book does.  So yeah, I'm not Stephen King's biggest fan, though I do enjoy the movies that are based on his books.  The Langoliers is my personal favorite, and the original It is a family favorite.  My sister is terrified of clowns, and my daddy used to tease her in a Tim Curry-esque voice "Don't ya wanna balloon, kid?  They float!  We all float down here!"  The next line, "You'll float too," was usually recited by me, in a deadpan, Daria-style voice.  My bow has that particular line on it, LOL.
I wouldn't mind floating, but not in the way Pennywise meant!

Happy April Fools Day,
