Punch buggy yellow!

For a long time my favorite car has been the Volkswagen Beetle.  Sometime...oh, maybe two years ago, Mama surprised me with a T-shirt that has a decidedly hippie-looking Beetle on the front, and a bow to match.
Okay, they're VW buses and not Beetles, but who's counting?  LOL, Beetles were once a source of comedy for my family as my sister and her then-boyfriend would play "Punch Buggy" wherever they went.  They extended their game to include Ford Mustangs ("charley horse"), Chrysler PT Cruisers ("cruiser bruiser"), and anything with wood paneling ("wood grain, feel the pain").  Sister has a silver tongue and she'd find any way she could to win a round through arguing.  If one of them yelled the wrong color it didn't count, and Sister would find some silly little way that Boyfriend had called the wrong color.  Listening to them banter was hilarious, and the maniacal grin on Sister's face was just as epic, if not better.  Sigh...even though that guy wasn't the one Sister married, we did have some good times together.  The breakup was NOT amicable, but it ended up going well for both of them, as both he and she are happily married to someone else, so that cloud has a silver lining.

Cheers,

  1. Love Volkswagons and Beetles are my favorite car. TJ and I built the Lego Volkswagon van, that was fun. Isn't it interesting how memories work? You are looking at a hair bow and the brand vehicle reminded you of something. I am finding that with Mom, although since she's not here - its not always fun. But it is interesting.

    1. Don't let go, no matter how trifling a memory it is. That'll keep your mama alive in your heart.
