Trying to get back into a rhythm

After awhile one runs out of things to say about hair bows, but I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.  I'm wearing a new one today, with a Dr. Seuss/Cat in the Hat theme.
Here's a better look at the hat, and at my chartreuse nails.
This bow was provided by my mama, as many of my bows are.

It's been two years since I updated this blog, and if y'all read my doll blog then you know that my life is a little crazy right now.  The Cliff Notes version of it goes as follows:  I've lost the ability to walk on my own, I need surgery for uterine fibroids, and I can't get it until my mobility is better.  On the positive side, my mental state is pretty good, better than it usually is in August.

Also...coming soon to a manicure near you!  These are "Elf Taught" and "Holiday Tree-ditions."
In addition to the hair bows I've started collecting nail polish, just for the helluvit.  Life's frustrating and boring at times, and the world I live in is going crazier all the time, so I lift my own spirits with fancy-colored nails.  The brown stuff on the left isn't really brown when worn on the nails, but y'all don't get to see that until closer to Christmas.  These are Christmas polishes, though odds are I'll wear 'em whenever the hell I want.  The color I'm wearing right now is "Manchineel Tree," one of Mooncat's "Deadly By Nature" colors.
Y'all can't tell it, but this manicure will need a change soon.  The stuff on my right hand is cracking, a result of me both being right-handed and letting my nails grow too long.

Colour my world

It's Crayon Day! It should be no surprise to y'all that I love crayons even now.  When I was very, very little I only had four, in the colors depicted on the bow:  red, blue, yellow, and green.  When I started school I learned that crayons come in many, many other colors, but I digress.  Green was my favorite color as a toddler, and it remains that way now, but for some reason I chose blue earrings to go with the bow. I think I chose blue because I wear blue jeans every day, and blue jewelry matches blue jeans.  Or that's the way I reasoned back in high school.  But for the record, I do love blue; when one is a Moody Blues fan one tends to gravitate towards blue, and I am indeed a fan, LOL.  Heck, I liked blue BEFORE I could tell Justin Hayward from Justin Timberlake (which isn't hard, as one's old and talented and the other is young and does better on SNL than he does as a singer).  But anyway, I got the blue crayons to go with my bow.  Pit...

Pac-Man fever

For the record, I suck at Pac-Man.  I've only played it a handful of times, but each time I couldn't get past the first level.  I guess it's one of those games that requires practice and patience...and patience is NOT one of my virtues!  Regardless, I do like Pac-Man.  Compared to the dumb video games we have today Pac-Man's simple innocence is...well, it's pretty nice.  Unfortunately I'm about to make myself look like a complete hypocrite, because my Pac-Man is munching more than just little white pellets! Phooey on pellets and fruit and ghosts, Pac-Man's hitting the hard stuff!  The Etsy carrier, DollfaceDesignss , goes heavy on the horror, so I guess Pill-Popper Pac-Man is kinda tame compared to Psycho .  Whatevs, I like my accessories a little (or a lot) on the offbeat side, so I'm happy.  This is a mighty nice bow, by the way.  Some of my bows pull my hair like mad, but this one slid right in. Ho, ho, ho!

Today is, among other goofy holidays, Pretend to Be a Time Traveller Day, but I think I'll leave the TARDIS bow at home and stick with the season.  Even if it's way warmer than it should be.  Seriously, I'm in short sleeves and flip-flops. Santa Claus!  Or a Santa Claus theme.  This is another one that Mama got for me...gosh, it was clean back in the spring, right at the "clove of the seasons," as I often say on my doll blog.  Y'all probably know that irritating cusp between winter and spring, where it's cold at the beginning of the day and too warm for long sleeves at the end, where the flowers are taking leaf but the ants aren't out yet.  I've learned that when we have a warm snap but the ants don't come out, we're gonna have at least one more cold snap.  Ants are smart like that; they do what God and their puny little brains tell them to, and we don't, and we often pay for it.  ANYWAY, it was a day like that when Mama handed me this ...
