Not too much longer
Yesterday I wore my jelly bow and it didn't rain a drop. Today I wore a bow that ISN'T jelly, and it's pouring! That said, Easter/Resurrection Day isn't too far off! Here's my bow for today; it's Peeps-themed!
Some of these came in pairs and are presumably meant to top pigtails (or dog ears, as some of my older friends call them), but I don't have enuff hair for pigtails anymore, and they always looked kinda dumb on me anyway. Go figure; my favorite American Girl doll looks great in pigtails. Notice that she too is clad in bows; I hate bare rubber bands on doll hair...and people hair too, for that matter.
Maybe Rita Cheryl's pigtails look better than mine because her hair is thicker than mine. If you part my hair you can see clean through to my scalp. My hair has always been thin; when I was a teenager it was so bad that during summertime I'd take a small paintbrush and paint sunblock on my part so that I wouldn't have a line of sunburn on my scalp. No lie. I could've worn a hat, but who wants to wear a hat when one's head is already hot and sweaty??? ANYWAY, this bow didn't come as a pair. Rather, it is attached to a headband like so.
I never can get the bow placed right if I wear it as a headband, so I use it as a scrunchie instead.
A little clunky, but it works.
Oops, I included "ear baubles" in the tags but didn't show 'em! Here's the dangles, from DecorDelightsForYou...
...and here's the studs, in my favorite apricot shade, from SunburstLaserCo. They look white/off-white in the picture, but trust me: they're apricot.
Anyway, Easter. Easter is my favorite holiday, both for the religious significance and for the candy. Peeps are some of my favorite candies, but as long as it's not licorice or jellybeans I'll cram it down my craw. In addition to Peeps I love Cadbury eggs (both the fondant kind and the mini kind), Reeses anything, and malted milk balls in moderation. Oh, and Milk Duds. I love Milk Duds ANYTIME, but they tend to melt and clump together during summer so I don't eat them then. And the decorations! Bunny rabbits, chicks, and lambs everywhere, in soft pastels that are perfect for the blooming spring. Here's my bunny; my uncle's significant other gave her to me. She decorates the foyer at the library where I work.
She doesn't have a name. I need to think one up for her.
Likely tomorrow will be another Easter-themed bow. Wal-Mart had a sale last year on these, so I've got several.
Love and marshmallows,
