Prevention

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.  I don't have a purple and teal bow, but I do have my big silver bow for mental health. I've seen silver utilized for both schizophrenia awareness and bipolar disorder awareness, as well as generalized brain disorders.  So yeah, brain health and mental health awareness can stave off suicide in some cases.  Some cases, mind y'all.  Other times folks are lonely, or unemployed, or having trouble with substance abuse, or y'all get the drift.  If any of y'all have any sort of ideation, go to this link .  If you live in Missouri like I do, this link is also good .  Please know that you're not alone; indeed, a lot of us have felt worthless and helpless at some point in your life.  You matter to SOMEONE!!!  I guarantee it, you matter to someone. First birthday of the season!

Image
When my grandmother was alive September 2nd was the beginning of Birthday Season, but with her being in heaven the first of the season is now my sister's.  Her birthday is today, so I picked a purple bow. Sister's favorite color is purple, has been ever since she was old enuff to name the colors.  She wasn't into the lavender that most little girls like, but deep grape juice purple.  As she grew into a teenager, purple was just about the only bright color she'd wear without a fight, and even then she liked the darker shades.  I can even remember looking into her box of nail polish and noting that most of her favorite bottles were deep purple.  Even though green is my favorite color I've developed a fondness for purple, thanks to my dear ol' sis! Happy birthday, Sis!  I love you so much, and I wish you were here right now.  We'd eat Mexican, probably! Love, RagingMoon1987

Gimmie some grub!

Today is National Cheese Pizza Day!  My bow has pepperoni pizza on it, but to quote my sister, pizza's pizza. Bbbb

UK!

Image
Today is National College Colors Day.  I didn't attend University of Kentucky, and my sister isn't there anymore, but she and her husband had a very positive experience in Lexington, so I'll always have a soft spot for UK.  I couldn't find my University of Kentucky bow, so I'm wearing one of my other blue bows. Not that Sister and Brother-in-Law are unhappy at University of Arkansas, of course!  Sister loves her boss, which is saying something since some of Sister's past bosses have been rude or overly demanding or sexist.  No, Sis really likes this guy, and his wife too.  My brother-in-law also gets along well with his boss, but he gets along with just about everybody.  I need to find my Razorback hair bow; I know I've got one somewhere.  But in the meantime I'll stick with Sparkle Blue here. Blue love, RagingMoon1987

Heights, heights, heat!

Image
It's National Skyscraper Day.  Shudder, just the thought of that makes me nauseous.  I hate, hate, HATE heights!  And yet...and yet I think hot air balloons are cool. As I've said before I wouldn't go up in a hot air balloon unless you paid me a million dollars (I admit I said "unless"), but I do love to look at 'em. In other news, it is balls soup hot in the Bootheel again, and in most of the center of the country.  It was hot when July transitioned into August, and now it's hot again.  Look at this! No relief in sight, not eight days away or anytime in between!  That combined with our cantankerous A/C has made for some miserable living conditions.  I find it ironic that I moved my animals (and myself) over to Uncle Man-Child's place to escape the heat, and it's hot anyway!  But it's not as bad as it would've been at my old house (it has no functioning A/C at all). Another random day!

Image
Huzzah, it's another random day!   This is arguably the most original bow I own.  How many of y'all have heard of a heart made from a zipper???  I love the color combo too, and the polka dots.  It's just a very unique bow, and I love anything unique. Love, RagingMoon1987

Black and white and ginger

It's another random day, as are most of the days this week, so I picked an old favorite. My mama really likes this one for some reason.  I like it too because it's one of my more comfortable bows.  It used to light up so it's a bit heavy, but it doesn't pull my hair. For the record, it IS Ginger Cat Appreciation Day, and since yellow cats are included on the ginger spectrum, that means my Adric. Happy Ginger Cat Appreciation Day, Adric!  I love the living snot out of you.  I love all six of my cats and both my dogs, but of the six Adric is the most affectionate...well, maybe he ties with Tommy, since both my boy cats will follow us around until they get chin scratchies.  Adric also likes to stick his nose in my ear.  It's hilarious; I'll be sitting at the table watching the other cats eat, and I'll hear "snuffle-snuffle-PURR-snuffle," and it'll be Adric clamoring for attention. All our cats are special, but if you've got a yellow one, give ...
