Ain't it great to be crazy?!

Happy National Peculiar People Day, y'all!  I freaking love being an eccentric! I wish my sister were here.  She'd HATE this bow.  Etsy shop is one of my favorites, MoFunAccessories , and there was an interesting story behind this particular bow.  I'd picked a similar one with a decapitated Lalaloopsy doll on it, but the proprietor of the store contacted me and told me the Lalaloopsy bow had disappeared in the mayhem that was her shop!  She offered me another bow, I picked the other beheaded doll, and all was well.  The proprietor of this shop is extremely accommodating, and I can't recommend her enuff. Yep, I guess y'all could say that I'm Malden's resident eccentric.  It's not uncommon to see a fat brunette limping through a graveyard with one or more dolls in my hands, looking for that perfect spot to set up for a photo op.  Or you might see me limping around looking up, my phone in my hands, as I wait for a special cloud to be perfectly illumi...

One of my other favorite fabrics

The other day I discussed corduroy, and today Imma discuss one of my other favorite fabrics. My reasons for loving velvet are the same as my reasons for loving corduroy:  it's soft and shiny and warm, and it can be utilized a lot of different ways.  Two of my favorite dresses growing up were velvet, both handmade by the same wonderful woman.  The first was this knee-length job with a wide lace collar, and the velvet was this beautiful blue shade like the dress Felicity Merriman wore during her Christmas story. Only difference is that Felicity's dress was and is taffeta.  But the color was the same.  I wore that dress to the school's winter concert that year, and as we were all letting out, looking for our parents, I ran into a little kid that was about five (I was eleven).  She had a Dalmatian-spotted coat made of fake fur, and we both stood for a few seconds feeling the softness of each other's clothes.   The other dress was the same color as the...

Paw Patrol

My bow today was rage-purchased when the character on it became controversial.  Etsy shop is RnRshairbowsandmore . For the uninitiated, that's Chase from Paw Patrol .  Paw Patrol is a children's program about a little boy and his team of search and rescue dogs.  Fitting considering the mess in Florida and Georgia this morning.  Anyway, each of the dogs has a special job to do and a special appearance to go along with said job.  Chase is second fiddle to the boy and is a police officer.  In recent years backlash against the Fuzz has been strong due to a handful of bad cops doing bad things, and some on the left wanted Chase written out of the show.  That was YEARS ago now, but...well, I've got the bow so why not continue to wear it? Long live Paw Patrol !  They got picked up for another season earlier this year, so it doesn't look like Chase and company are going anywhere. Love, RagingMoon1987

Have you ever seen one of my bows and thought "What the hell was that designer thinking???"  Well...today I'm feeling that. Y'all ready for this?  We've got three colors (more if one counts the owls), three prints (two styles of polka dot and the aforementioned owls), and four styles of ribbon (grosgrain, tulle, glittery pink, and glittery silver).  To me it's kind of a hot mess, but my mother loves it.  LOL, if she likes it then that's important, as my mother's opinions are important to me.  Plus, it matches two of my favorite blouses.  It did pull the snot out of my hair going in, though.  Par for the course with mass-produced bows, unfortunately. What say y'all?  Hot or hot mess? Love,  RagingMoon1987
