Halloween 2026

Image
It's that time of year again, and thank God, it's a Saturday.  I can go straight home tonight, hide from the kids, and sleep late tomorrow.  Yes, I love Halloween, and I'd love to be in the right physical form to hand out candy, but the chairs on our porch aren't the most comfortable.  Still, I'm in the holiday spirit with this JoJo Bow... ...and my "Fear the Living" mani.  I may try to get one more week outta this one. Pity my bow has no green, or it would match my nails nicely.  Oh well, it don't have to match. Today looks to be at least somewhat rainy, but like Fourth of July I've never known a Halloween that was a complete washout.  Heck, if it rained my friends would be loaded in the car and they'd be driven to Trick-or-Treat locations, rain be durned.  I figure that's what they'll do this year if it rains.  As for me, I'm staying home where it's warm and dry.  I've got chocolate, YouTube, and my mama, and it's gonn...

Waka-waka-waka!

No, not Fozzie Bear.  I wore my Pac-Man bow today! Pill-Popper Pac-Man, that is!  Mama got us both a shirt that has Pac-Man on it, so this bow may make more frequent appearances in the future.  Love, RagingMoon1987

No desire

Like Shinedown said, there's more of us, we're everywhere.  I've even found a subreddit for the asexual community, though some of those folks are crazy MOFOs.  Oh well, I'm a little crazy myself.  The world could do with a little more positive craziness, the kind that doesn't hurt anyone. For the plushie lovers out there

It's Plush Animal Lovers Day. At the ripe ol' age of 39 I still love me a good teddy bear/stuffed animal.  Last Friday a little girl brought a stuffed Yoda into the library, and I kid you not, that thing looked like he'd been hand-crocheted.  He was big too, about a foot and a half tall.  When I asked where the child had gotten such a nice Yoda her mother replied "We literally just picked him up at the thrift store."  I'm not big into Star Wars , not yet, but that was a niiiiiice Yoda.  I'd have had him in my plushie collection in a heartbeat. That said, I don't have a Yoda in my plushie collection, largely because I'm not a big Star Wars fan (again, not yet).  I have nothing against Star Wars , but I've never seen the movies and thus couldn't be a fan.  Once again, not yet.  That might change if I ever see the movies.  I do like Harrison Ford, after all.  But no, my plushie collection is pretty standard, consisting of the critters seen...

Anything goes

Wasn't sure what to wear today, so I picked my frog bow. Funny thing, I run into more brown frogs than I do green, and most of the green ones I've met have white bellies.  But I don't make a habit of picking frogs up to check, so maybe plenty of 'em have yellow bellies. No, despite my fondness for frogs and toads I try to avoid picking them up.  Their little bones feel fragile, and they don't have ribs at all so ham-handing frogs and toads can fatally damage their hearts or lungs.  I don't wanna cause undeserved, unintentional pain to one of my favorite creatures, so I leave the little guys be if I can.  I will pick them up to relocate 'em (cupped hands), as my dogs are idiots and don't know that toads taste nasty and can make a doggie sick.  Otherwise I look and don't touch, even though I love the moist, soft feel of a frog's skin. Kid in a candy store

JoJo Bow! During her youth JoJo Siwa was as bright and colorful as a kid in a candy store.  I freaking loved all the colors she wore!  Not that she's boring now, of course; indeed, she reminds me a little of Sir Elton John in this getup. I LOVE THAT JACKET!!!  Doesn't look like the most comfortable thing in the world, but it sure is cute.  Speaking of Sir Elton John, I know for a fact that he and JoJo are...acquainted, at least.  Knowing Sir Elt and his fondness for younger musicians, he's probably latched onto her like Velcro.  Birds of a feather, I s'pose.  Both Elt and JoJo are LGBTQ+ and like loud colors, so they'd definitely vibe. Whatevs, as long as they're not hurting anyone I'm good with it! Rainbow love, RagingMoon1987

Went back to the doctor

Yep, another drive to Cape Girardeau.  I had a lumbar puncture done, which wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be.  I didn't tie my hair up yesterday, but...well, I did today.  Doctor Who Day is gonna be on a Monday this year (my off day), so I trotted out Big Blue a month early.  Not that I need an excuse to wear my TARDIS bow, LOL. The lumbar puncture was nothing like I'd feared.  I had to lie on my stomach, which was not fun for two reasons.  One, I have large breasts.  Any woman with big boobs knows it's next to impossible to lie on one's stomach comfortably.  Two, my hips kept spazzing out, and this was a problem because you've gotta hold still for a lumbar puncture.  A lot of squirming and a lot of prayers got me to finally relax.  As to the puncture itself, the lidocaine shot burned some, but the actual puncture didn't hurt at all.  I mean, I felt someone TOUCH my spine, but it didn't hurt.  Felt kinda like...
