Zipper heart

This bow is a special one.  Not only did Mama find it, but it's very original.  When's the last time y'all saw a heart made from a cast-off zipper?

I have multiple summer and winter blouses that this will match this bow, so I predict that it'll get a lot of mileage in the weeks and months ahead.  Despite my animosity towards Valentine's Day (will be discussed in a future post) I do love hearts.  Hearts are almost as good as polka dots.  I like zippers too; that fondness stems back to my childhood, when zippers were easier and faster to manipulate than buttons.  Don't get me wrong, I love buttons, but when you're getting ready for school and your mother is a teacher you're kinda on a time crunch of a morning.  Thank God I didn't have to button my shoes, like Laura Ingalls Wilder and her sisters did.  Heck, tying my shoes was enuff of a chore at times!  I didn't wear a pair of shoes that zipped until I got to junior high.

Have any of y'all ever seen the San Andreas Fault from the air.  To me it looks like a big zipper.  The New Madrid Fault looks nothing like it, but it's every bit as dangerous.  Food for thought.

Pac-Man fever

For the record, I suck at Pac-Man.  I've only played it a handful of times, but each time I couldn't get past the first level.  I guess it's one of those games that requires practice and patience...and patience is NOT one of my virtues!  Regardless, I do like Pac-Man.  Compared to the dumb video games we have today Pac-Man's simple innocence is...well, it's pretty nice.  Unfortunately I'm about to make myself look like a complete hypocrite, because my Pac-Man is munching more than just little white pellets! Fancy a jellybean?

No thanks, I'm good.  I positively loathe jellybeans...unless they're on my hair bow. Mama hauled off and surprised me with three huge hair bows shortly after the beginning of May.  Two of 'em are patriotic, and the third one is this one, my jellybean bow.  Even though I don't particularly care for jellybeans, I love the colors!  It's a nice big bow too, exactly 7.75 inches across.  Okay, I lie a little bit about jellybeans.  I'm just VERY.  VERY.  PICKY.  I like the Starburst-brand jellybeans, and certain flavors of Jelly Belly (peach is my favorite).  Peach is just about my favorite anything, LOL.   Funny story about jellybeans.  After a story got loose in England about George Harrison and his fondness for Jelly Babies (a softer confection that isn't available stateside), well-meaning fans started throwing the sweets at George and the rest of the Beatles.  News travels fast, and when the Beatles started playing Amer...

Colour my world

It's Crayon Day! It should be no surprise to y'all that I love crayons even now.  When I was very, very little I only had four, in the colors depicted on the bow:  red, blue, yellow, and green.  When I started school I learned that crayons come in many, many other colors, but I digress.  Green was my favorite color as a toddler, and it remains that way now, but for some reason I chose blue earrings to go with the bow. I think I chose blue because I wear blue jeans every day, and blue jewelry matches blue jeans.  Or that's the way I reasoned back in high school.  But for the record, I do love blue; when one is a Moody Blues fan one tends to gravitate towards blue, and I am indeed a fan, LOL.  Heck, I liked blue BEFORE I could tell Justin Hayward from Justin Timberlake (which isn't hard, as one's old and talented and the other is young and does better on SNL than he does as a singer).  But anyway, I got the blue crayons to go with my bow.  Pit...
